Register your practice for 10DLC so your business text messages reach patients. 10DLC (10-digit long code) is the system US carriers use for business texting from standard 10-digit phone numbers. Registration verifies that your business is legitimate. Carriers heavily filter, block, or don’t deliver text messages from businesses that aren’t registered. Registration has two parts:
  • Brand: your practice’s legal business identity, such as its legal name, tax ID (EIN), and website.
  • Campaign: how your practice uses text messaging.
You provide your practice’s business details in a 10DLC registration form from Peerlogic. Peerlogic then submits your brand and campaign to the carrier registry for you. The registry and the carriers approve or reject the brand and the campaign.
Coming soon: you’ll be able to submit your 10DLC registration directly in Workspace.

When to use this

  • You want to send and receive text messages (SMS) from your practice’s numbers with Peerlogic, through Peerlogic Voice or Aimee.
  • You ported numbers to Peerlogic or moved their text messaging to Peerlogic, and you plan to text from them.
  • Peerlogic asked you to correct your 10DLC details.

Prerequisites

  • The 10DLC registration form from Peerlogic. Your Implementation Manager or Peerlogic Support sends it to you. If you don’t have it, contact Peerlogic Support to request it.
  • Your practice’s legal business details, exactly as they appear on your IRS records: legal company name and EIN.
  • Your practice’s website.
  • The name of an authorized representative for the business.
  • Your practice’s business address, email, and phone number.
  • The phone numbers your practice uses for text messaging.

Procedure

1

Open the registration form

Open the 10DLC registration form link that your Implementation Manager or Peerlogic Support sent you.
2

Enter your practice's business details

Complete the form with your practice’s information. Enter the legal company name and EIN exactly as they appear on your IRS records, and enter the website patients know your practice by. For example, the brand name might be Arizona Bright Care Dental, with its legal company name as registered to its EIN.
3

Submit the form

Submit the form. Peerlogic uses your details to submit your brand and campaign to the carrier registry.
4

Wait for approval

The registry verifies your brand first, and then the carriers review your campaign. After Peerlogic sends your campaign to the carrier registry, approval or rejection usually takes two to three business days. Peerlogic Support tells you when your registration is approved or rejected. To check its status, contact Peerlogic Support.

Exceptions

Carriers most often reject a brand or campaign when:
  • The EIN is incorrect.
  • The legal company name doesn’t match the EIN.
  • The website isn’t clearly related to the brand.
  • The campaign’s call-to-action information is incomplete or doesn’t match the brand, for example when the practice name on your messaging pages differs from your brand name.
If Peerlogic tells you that your brand or campaign was rejected, send the correct details to Peerlogic Support so Peerlogic can fix and resubmit the registration.
Contact Peerlogic Support and ask for the 10DLC registration form.

Verify

After Peerlogic confirms that your brand and campaign are approved, send a test text message from one of your practice’s numbers and confirm that it arrives.
